Early photographs of houses, cars, family life, school days, recreation, Perth Zoo, Haddon Hall, (Nuytsia), May Gibbs' family home, The Dune and the Old Mill are just some of the 52 images on show at the City of South Perth Historical Society’s new photographic exhibition at Heritage House, South Perth.

Many of the images are being displayed for the first time in the gallery and certain to attract keen interest from local history buffs.

Society President Lynn O’Hara said the photos provided the community with a valuable insight into what life was like in the early days of the peninsula. “Our thanks to the City of South Perth for giving us permission to use some of the photographs from its ‘Picture South Perth’ Collection,” she said. “Together with our own images believe this exhibition is one of the most exciting our members have produced.”
