The City of South Perth Historical Society Inc. was established in 1989 to stimulate public interest in our local history, to encourage historical research and publication, and to promote the designation and preservation of historic sites, buildings and stories. It is an incorporated society.

The City of South Perth Historical Society Inc. operate from the Gallery and Cultural Centre located at Heritage House, cnr. Mends Street and Mill Point Road, South Perth.
MENDS ST. HERITAGE PRECINCT
Built in 1904 as the South Perth Road Board building is open to explore and learn about the stories and history of this and the other
buildings and places of the South Perth District.
Join us for our Heritage Matters series of Talks throughout the year.
Since returning to our original base at Heritage House in 2013 we have consolidated and increased our annual activities through a programme of Exhibitions, Heritage Matters Talks, an educational Heritage Award, heritage support and participation in local events and numerous other pursuits.
Our membership are supportive and active.
We operate with the valuable assistance of volunteer Duty Officers who keep Heritage House open to the public every Friday, Saturday and Sunday - with increased opening times for special exhibitions.
Many tasks require additional volunteer hours and we welcome new volunteers. Please contact us on 9367 9243 and please leave a message.

Tram - Original South Perth/Como Tram
The City of South Perth Historical Society in conjunction with
the Perth Electric Tramways Society (PETS) and the City of
South Perth have a tripartite agreement to restore and return
this 1899 tram to the City of South Perth. To keep up to date
